Professor Jill Keeffe is head of the Population Health Unit at the Centre for Eye Research Australia.
Her research is in the epidemiology of vision impairment and how data can be used for prevention of blindness programs.

These quality of life tools are used to assess needs for programs and to evaluate outcomes of programs in eye care and vision rehabilitation.
Other academic positions held include Program Director of the Vision Cooperative Research Centre responsible for projects including two in India, and is a Senior Fellow at the University of New South Wales. She holds the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital’s Wagstaff Fellowship in Ophthalmology. She has published over 110 articles in international journals and written chapters on vision impairment and specifically on low vision.
She received an Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in June 2007 for services to eye care education and practice.
