Prior to taking up that appointment he had academic and research appointments at the Universities of New South Wales and Sydney and Oxford University, UK. Professor Morley's research interest and involvement is mainly in the area of neural coding in the somatosensory and visual systems, and he has substantial experience with in-vivo electrophysiological recording and in-vitro patch clamp recording.
