Professor at the Graduate School of Biomedical Engineering at University of NSW. His expertise ranges from biomedical instrumentation, biological signal processing, neurophysiology and physiological modeling.

His principal research interests have been focused in the application of appropriate technology in primary health care and design of an electronic vision prosthesis.

He has published 300+ journal articles, books, chapters, patents, refereed proceedings and abstracts and has been awarded over $25 million in research, consultancy and infrastructure funding in his career.
