Dr Lauren Ayton, BVA's Clinical Research Coordinator at the Centre for Eye Research Australia, has been awarded the prestigious Hugh Rogers Fellowship to go to the Harvard Medical School to work with Professor of Ophthalmology Joseph Rizzo. 

The Hugh Rogers Fellowships are awarded by the Melbourne Boston Sister Cities Association to individuals with a focus on education, healthcare and medical research, and arts and culture.The Fellowships aim to encourage innovation by funding projects that expand and enhance both Melbourne's and Boston's reputation in these key areas.

Dr Ayton will spend a month in Boston working with Professor Rizzo to lead an international joint task which aims to gain consensus on the assessment and reporting of outcomes in vision restoration trials.
